Annual Awards Reception

Special recognition to distinguish outstanding service to the community and our youth; Excellence in Profession, Person of the Year, and other awards are presented.

Summer Beautification Contest

Placement certificates are awarded in both residential and commercial categories for landscaping and maintenance of property.

Soldotna Progress Days

Events include a parade, two days of rodeo competitions, arts & crafts displays, car shows, community dinners and dances; Soldotna's largest celebration.

Annual Pie Auction

This fun-filled event is held in October. Local "gourmets" bake pies to be auctioned off. These pies have a secret prize attached which are announced after the last pie is sold. Proceeds help support our local H.S. scholarship program and merchant's committee events.

Local H.S. Scholarship Awards

Seven scholarships are awarded to students annually. Included in the scholarship program are; vo-tech scholarship, and Vera Haworth (community involvement and business). Most scholarships are renewable with continued education.

Christmas Decorating Contest

Awards are given in both residential and commercial categories for the best decorations and holiday spirit.

January - Peninsula Winter Games

The last weekend January is a great time to celebrate winter with activities for everyone, including a ice carving competition, Native Youth Olympics, a Hockey Tournament and much more.
