The Soldotna Chamber has announced that our Executive Director has resigned after 5 years with the organization. Shanon will continue in her role until February 22nd, before beginning a new position as Marketing Manager for the Central Peninsula Hospital. Shanon leaves a well-experienced team of professionals at the Chamber who will manage the transition until a replacement is selected.
It has been my honor to lead the Soldotna Chamber for the last five years, the most rewarding years of my 20+ career of association leadership and marketing. The timing is right for me to move on to my next adventure as Marketing Manager of the Central Peninsula Hospital.
As I reflect on my time with the Soldotna Chamber, I am proud of what we have achieved together as a team. We have championed collaboration and inclusiveness, working with other community leaders to improve quality of life and help make Soldotna an economic and cultural development driver on the Peninsula.
The local community is active and engaged, and the chamber staff is dedicated and passionate about their work—so I believe the Chamber continues to be in an excellent position to move forward the goals of its strategic plan, including representing and advocating for the Soldotna business community in Soldotna’s Riverfront Redevelopment Plan.
I will always cherish the opportunities and experiences the Chamber and its board of directors have provided me. Although I am leaving this position with the Soldotna Chamber, I will continue to be a part of Soldotna’s business community. CPH plays a vital role in the health and wellness of not only our citizens, but also our economy. So, this is not goodbye, but merely see you next time, albeit in a different capacity. Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving.
