A thriving community relies on a skilled and robust workforce. The greater Soldotna area is home to many great employers. Soldotna Chamber is pleased to promote our current workforce by listing available job opportunities and workforce training.
Soldotna is primarily a residential and service oriented community. It is home to some of the largest employers on the Kenai Peninsula. It is the site of Central Peninsula Hospital, Kenai Peninsula College, a State Trooper’s Detachment, the headquarters for the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and the Borough and School District offices. Major areas of employment within the City of Soldotna include government, retail and service, and visitor industries. Many Soldotna residents work outside the city in oil, gas, mining, and commercial fishing. Therefore, these industries greatly affect the economy of the area while not being major sources of employment within Soldotna itself.
Over the last decade, Soldotna has increasingly become a hub of business and visitor activity. Several malls and clusters of stores, banks, restaurants and offices form the commercial district. Vacant land and undeveloped property are available for business expansion and new ventures within the area. The visitor industry supports many tourism-related businesses such as fishing guides, housing and retail trade. Soldotna sees a growing tourist economy and some seasonality in available jobs.
