The City of Soldotna is located a short 25-minute commuter flight, or 140 gorgeous highway miles, south of Anchorage. Soldotna is situated in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula, known by locals as The Kenai, Alaska’s Playground.

First things first, you need choose how you would like to travel to Alaska. Hop a plane, climb aboard a ship or hit the road. However you travel, keep the camera close at hand, the journey itself can be breathtaking. More than 240 flights arrive daily at the Anchorage Airport. Flights on a variety of carriers connect Anchorage with major U.S. cities as well as Asia and Europe.

When COVID related restrictions have been lifted from visitors traveling through Canada, a long-haul vacation to Soldotna is a wonderful option. The Alaska Highway runs more than 1,300 miles between British Columbia, Canada and Alaska. The trip to Alaska via Canada varies by departure point, but you’ll want to plan on several days of travel time.

If you fly into Anchorage, opt to rent a car or motor home for maximum flexibility. If you don’t want the stress of driving, try a scheduled motorcoach service or you can opt to fly on scheduled air service to the City of Kenai, located just 10 miles from Soldotna. Flights depart Anchorage for Kenai every hour.

The drive from Anchorage to Soldotna (Kenai) is approximately 150 miles and takes about 3 hours of driving with minimal stops.
